13 Days Uganda Adventure: Hiking / Trekking / Rafting / Cycling

For 13 unforgettable days, your heart will race for four compelling reasons.

  1. Encountering wildlife such as hippos, elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, and zebras on safaris in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo National Park will bring your wildest safari dreams to life.

  2. Coming face to face with our closest relatives—mountain gorillas and chimpanzees—in their natural habitat is an experience that is both thrilling and deeply moving.

  3. Hiking an extinct volcano, walking through a swamp, and cycling through the countryside will challenge your fitness, but you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking scenery and authentic Ugandan encounters.

  4. A quad bike safari and white-water rafting in Jinja will send an exhilarating rush of adrenaline through your body.

Believe it or not, these are only the highlights of your 13-day Uganda Hiking, Rafting, and Biking Adventure. Along the way, you will experience countless other unforgettable moments and unique sights that will stay with you long after the journey ends.

Important to know: Gorilla trekking is an extremely popular activity and requires both a licensed guide and a permit. For this reason, it must be planned and booked in advance as a separate arrangement. We are, of course, happy to assist you with this process.

Is it safe to travel to Uganda?

Uganda is a safe country to visit (yay!). Especially if you want to join organised game drives with private guides, as you will do with us. There are, of course, some places to avoid in big cities like Kampala or Entebbe. But – as with everywhere else in the world – you’ll be fine by taking some precautions. Just some examples to be on the safe side (pun intended): don’t explore the city at night without a driver or guide, keep your valuables close to you, avoid wearing big and visible jewellery and leave some things like passports in the hotel safe.

This is a private and exclusive safari designed to let you travel at your own pace. The journey is tailored specifically to you, exactly according to your preferences. Our experienced travel consultants ensure that every detail aligns with your wishes.

There are many benefits to this personalized experience. To begin with, you will travel in a private safari vehicle accompanied by your own dedicated guide. You have full flexibility to decide when to start your day and when to return, while still benefiting from your guide’s expert advice. Additionally, once inside a national park, you can spend as much time as you wish observing particular animals or herds, without feeling rushed. Finally, with a clear understanding of your interests, your personal guide will offer insightful recommendations, transforming your safari into a truly unforgettable adventure.

At Africa Safari Trips, we focus on designing journeys that are uniquely yours. When you plan your African adventure with us, you’re doing more than booking a holiday—you’re beginning a fully personalized experience. We take the time to understand your ideas and preferences and carefully shape every detail to match your vision. Our team works closely with you to ensure your trip is completely tailored to your expectations. For added ease and inspiration, we also offer a selection of our most popular African tours and safaris as a starting point for customization.

Absolutely—Uganda delivers wildlife encounters beyond expectations. Alongside the iconic Big Five, you’ll have the chance to photograph hyenas, hippos, zebras, the distinctive Ugandan kob, and more than 1,000 bird species in a dazzling array of colors. For primate enthusiasts, Uganda is truly unmatched: its lush forests are home to around 24 monkey species, ranging from nocturnal galagos to striking blue monkeys and the awe-inspiring mountain gorillas.
