Beginning in Mombasa, this journey takes you through the four national parks closest to this vibrant coastal city before ending with a relaxing beach stay.

Your adventure starts in the lush hills of Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and the community-run Lumo Conservancy, where you’ll enjoy your first wildlife encounters, including elephants, lions, zebras, and giraffes. From there, you’ll continue to Tsavo West National Park to explore its well-known highlights as well as its hidden gems. In Amboseli National Park, you can admire large herds of elephants—perhaps even the famous supertuskers—set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, moments that are truly worth capturing. The final safari days are spent in the vast Tsavo East National Park in search of the Big Five, before unwinding on one of Africa’s most beautiful beaches, Diani Beach, for four blissful days of relaxation.

Kenya is definitely a safe country to visit, especially for people going on organised game drives with private guides as you will do with us. There are definitely some places to avoid in big cities like Nairobi or Mombasa, but – as with all big cities – by taking some precautions, you’ll be fine. We advise, for example, to leave the hotel at night with a driver and not to go strolling around alone. Also be aware not to wear big and visible jewellery, and keep an eye on your valuables.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and LUMO Conservancy

The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and the LUMO Conservancy are two intimate safari gems nestled between the vast Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks. Thanks to their close proximity, they can be perfectly combined, offering a diverse and uncrowded safari experience. One of the highlights here is the chance to enjoy unique night game drives, when the bush truly comes alive.

During your safari, keep your eyes peeled for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras and various antelope species, alongside an impressive variety of wildlife. Bird lovers are especially spoiled, with more than 300 bird species recorded in the area. In the nearby Taita Hills, you may even spot some of Kenya’s rarest and most endangered birds, including the Taita Apalis, the Taita White-eye and the elusive Taita Thrush – a true treat for nature enthusiasts.
