A twelve-day journey through Uganda, far from the beaten path—you might expect to see a great deal, and you would be absolutely right. This tour takes you to both well-known and lesser-explored regions of the country, guides you through the vibrant capital city of Kampala, and leads you on two hikes that are completely different from one another.

Marvel at the rugged landscapes of the remote Kidepo Valley National Park. Take a refreshing dip atop Mount Moroto and enjoy a natural shower at the stunning Sipi Falls (no soap required!). Along the way, immerse yourself in Uganda’s rich culture and savor its diverse local cuisine.

Your journey continues to the majestic Queen Elizabeth National Park. Climb aboard your safari vehicle and set out in search of the legendary Big Five, along with rare species such as the shoebill. Your adventure concludes just as memorably as it began, with a truly special experience in Lake Mburo National Park: a night game drive that is thrilling, slightly eerie, and absolutely unforgettable.

Important to know: Chimpanzee trekking is a highly sought-after activity and requires both a permit and an experienced guide. For this reason, it must be planned and booked separately and well in advance. Naturally, we are happy to assist you with all the arrangements.

Is it safe to travel to Uganda?

Uganda is a safe country to visit (yay!). Especially if you want to join organised game drives with private guides, as you will do with us. There are, of course, some places to avoid in big cities like Kampala or Entebbe. But – as with everywhere else in the world – you’ll be fine by taking some precautions. Just some examples to be on the safe side (pun intended): don’t explore the city at night without a driver or guide, keep your valuables close to you, avoid wearing big and visible jewellery and leave some things like passports in the hotel safe.

Today, you’ll travel from Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park on a scenic drive of about six hours. Along the way, you’ll pass through lively local villages, dense rainforests, rolling tea estates, and stunning crater lakes before reaching Fort Portal—a warm and welcoming town known as the gateway to Uganda’s great adventures. On a clear day, the snow-covered peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains come into view. Your journey then leads to Kibale Forest, famously known as the primate capital of the world, home to an incredible 13 species of monkeys.
